Product Description After being placed on probation for a minor offense, two men decide to join a mentoring program and find themselves working with two difficult kids wi
Amazon.com Raunchy, but not nauseating, Role Models is an exceptionally funny slacker comedy co-written by Paul Rudd. Rudd stars as Danny, one-half of a team (along with Seann William Scott's character, Wheeler) that visits schools on behalf of a power-drink company. With his lack of enthusiasm for work and his life painfully evident, Danny loses his live-in girlfriend, Beth (Elizabeth Banks), and soon has a run-in with the law resulting in community service for him and Wheeler. Ordered to appear at a Big Brothers-like organization, Danny is partnered with a lonely if brilliant adolescent boy, Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), while Wheeler is hooked up with a foul-mouthed pre-teen named Ronnie (Bobb'e J. Thompson). Neither of the men has anything in common with their charges, a fact exacerbated when Danny reluctantly attends Augie's participation in a weekend role-playing fantasy game with a medieval flavor. Meanwhile, Wheeler just tries to survive his ongoing power struggle with Ronnie. Both sets of relationships improve when Danny and Wheeler begin to meet their kids halfway and even learn to empathize with them, though the results are sometimes comically bumpy before the characters all hit their groove. There are a number of hilarious scenes (the film definitely deserves its R rating) and more than a few thoughtful ones, including a terrific moment where Danny defends Augie to the latter's critical parents over an awkward dinner. Jane Lynch is very funny as a semi-insane director of the program pairing kids and adults, and Banks (W.) is very appealing as Danny's unhappy ex-girlfriend. --Tom Keogh Stills from Role Models (Click for larger image)

Role Models August 20, 2010 C. A. Luster (Burke, VA USA) Good casting and story make this well worth at least a rent. When two energy drink sellsman run their company truck up on a statue they are charged with several infractions and must do community service or go to jail. They choose to do the service and are put to work as role models for a couple boys. They start out more concerned about how fast their service will go, but as they get to know the boys they find they are learning as much from them as they are trying to teach. Some good comedy and a good message. There is crude humor and nudity, so you may want to restrict it to the kids above 10. Good quality DVD. If you enjoyed this catch School of Rock (Widescreen Edition).

Role Models August 8, 2010 tuinbug This movie totally rocks, that's why I had to own it. I would recommend this movie.
Uplifting comedy with heart and soul. May 24, 2010 the smart guy Two friends become mentors for emotionally disturbed children. In the process they face hilarious trials and tribulations. The plot is rarely if ever weighed down with sappy emotionality. The movie stays silly from start to finish. They even dress up in KISS costumes and have a fantasy role-play battle at the end. This movie had many laugh out loud funny scenes and one-liners. Grade: A-
Hilarious Movie May 7, 2010 John M. Perkins (Charleston, WV USA) I thought this was a very funny movie. Seann William Scott and Paul Rudd play well off each other and are quite believable as the loveable losers that have to become "Bigs" in a Big-Brother type mentoring program due to court-ordered community service. I also liked Jane Lynch as the head of the program. Her over-the-top sarcasm and self-deprecation was hysterical. It's definitely not a movie for kids because of the language and brief nudity, but it is well worth watching. I have seen it numerous times and will continue to watch it!!

When I received the dvd I went to play it and it wouldn't go past a certain point in the movie. Extremely irritating and disappointing.
